Why a Land Sale?

The Deer Valley Unified School District is asking voters to approve the sale of a designated land parcel near 83rd Avenue and Happy Valley Road that is no longer needed for a future school site. If approved by voters and the sale is executed, the proceeds from the sale will be used in accordance with State law and cannot be used for operating expenses such as salaries or classroom supplies. Instead, the funds may be allocated for capital purposes, such as facility improvements, safety upgrades, or other long-term infrastructure needs. This measure ensures responsible asset management without impacting the district’s day-to-day operational budget.
